The scrub

How the Korean body scrub goes

It is a firm exfoliation done on a wet table in the bathing area, by an attendant of the same gender. You soak first, lie down, and the attendant works from your feet up, rinsing as they go.

Before you start

  • Soak first so the skin is soft

  • Tell the attendant about any tender or sunburned skin

  • Say stop at any time

Massage

Massage at the pressure you choose

Your therapist asks about pressure, areas to leave alone and anything you want to avoid, then checks in again halfway. After an injury, or if you are pregnant, ask your doctor before booking a massage or a heat add-on.

What to expect

  • Pressure agreed before you start

  • You are covered by a sheet throughout

  • You can stop a session at any time
